Introduction: Investing in the Future of Engineering
FANUC UK is dedicated to fostering the next generation of engineers. They are partnering with WorldSkills UK for the fifth consecutive year. This collaboration supports the annual Industrial Robotics competition, which aims to identify the UK’s most promising young robotics talent.

Competition Details: A Pathway to Robotics Excellence
The competition is open to teams of two. Participants should be nearing completion of a Level 3 Apprenticeship or hold equivalent engineering qualifications. The contest welcomes participants of all skill levels, and no prior robotics experience is required.
Hands-on Training and Stages of the Competition
The competition unfolds in several stages:
- Online Stage: The first stage runs from April 22-25, 2025. Participants will use FANUC’s Robot Simulation Software to complete a virtual task.
- Qualifiers Round: Successful teams will advance to the live Qualifiers Round, held at the Smart Factory Expo in Birmingham on June 4-5. During this round, competitors will complete a timed robot task.
- National Finals: FANUC’s robotics experts will provide hands-on training to help participants prepare for the National Finals, which will take place at FANUC UK’s Open House in Coventry from November 11-13, 2025.
- International Finals: The winning team may represent Squad UK at the International Finals in Tokyo.
